A few words about the INTENT project
The Internet has long proven to be a great medium for bringing university students into contact with other classrooms around the world so they can collaborate together, develop their foreign language skills and gain experience of intercultural collaboration. With time, telecollaborative exchanges are gaining in popularity, although still a lot needs to be done to make them a daily practice at academic institution.
The Erasmus Multilateral Project INTENT (Integrating Telecollaborative Networks into Foreign Language Higher Education) aims to raise greater awareness among students, educators and decision makers of telecollaboration as a tool for virtual mobility in FL education at the Higher Education (university) level. It also aims to achieve more effective integration of telecollaborative projects in Higher Education Institutions.
In February 2012 the INTENT team have collected survey data from over 500 educators and students around Europe, and produced a report on the current state of telecollaboration in European university education. The full version of the report can be found here: INTENT report

You are also more than welcome to use our online platform UNIcollaboration, whose aim is to assist you in finding partner classes, interesting telecollaborative tasks and training materials. The platform is available here : http://www.unicollaboration.eu/. Create an account and register your institution to use the platform to its fullest.
One of the project outcomes is a series of hands-on workshops for academic practitioners, educators and decision makers.
The INTENT team will be offering training workshops on telecollaboration in Italy, France, Poland and the UK in 2013. Registration is free but participants are expected to cover all their own travel and maintenance costs.

The Italian Workshop will be held in collaboration with the Centro Linguistico di Ateneo at the University of Padova, Italy.
